THE GREAT SQUARE BALL MYSTERY - A sponge cue is placed into the left fist, the right hand pokes the cube well into the fist, both hands are opened and the cube has vanished and both hands now contain one ball each. CAKE IN HAT PAN - The performer attempts to make a cake but somehow all the sticky ingredients are put in a hat. Due to some magic a real cake is produced and all the mess in the hat has vanished. Good comedy trick. (£28.00) £21.00

SURPRISO SILKS OFF ROPE - Spectators tie two silks on two lengths of rope held by the performer. The ends of the ropes are brought together -"Sim-Sala-Bim"- the silks fall free of the ropes and the ropes have joined to become one rope. (£10.00) £7.50
CONTINENTAL CANDLE CASE - A lit candle is placed into a chrome tube and the cap is placed on it. A spectator takes off the cap and looks in the tube only to find a silk hanky. The candle has completely disappeared. (£28.00) £21.00
21ST. CENTURY FIRE BOWL - Electronic ignition, supplied with batteries but no spring flowers. A foulard is thrown over your arm, you reach under it and produce a blazing bowl of fire. A wave of your hand and the fire goes out and the bowl with flowers. (£36.00) £27.00
COCKTAIL STICKS - A small brass tube with lid is examined along with 3 differently coloured cocktail sticks. Whilst the performer's back is turned one cocktail stick is dropped into the tube and the lid is placed on. Nevertheless, the performer instantly divines the correct colour. FLEXIBLE GLASS (BENDING GLASS)  -  A plastic sheet of mirror is seen to fill a wooden frame.  The apparatus is placed into a cloth bag and is immediately pierced in various places by a large needle, then it is bent completely in half.  The mirror  in the frame is removed from the bag and is shown to be normal and free from holes.  (£48.00)  £36.00
PETER QUINSEE'S COME TO THE CIRCUS  -  A rare and early children's trick of Supremes.  A large stand has a jumbo picture card of a seal at one end and a red ball on a launcher at the other end.  After much business the red ball is visibly seen to fly from one end to the other end but accidentally (?) the ball is still seen on the launcher.  However eventually the ball is seen balanced on Sammy the Seal's nose.  Good fun.  (£48.00)  £36.00
CARROT FACE THE RABBIT  -  A good kids effect which is easy to set and perform.  It uses jumbo size pictures of a rabbit and a carrot.  Great fun.  (£10.00)  £7.50
RAINBOW 20TH. CENTURY SILKS  -  A beautiful rainbow coloured silk vanishes and reappears tied between two solid coloured ones.  (£28.00)  £21.00
SMOKING THE THUMB  -  Form your hand into a fist put some invisible tobacco in it, light it with an invisible lighter, suck your thumb and puff out clouds of smoke.  (£5.00)  £3.50 
IAN ADAIR'S VANISHING DOVE CAGE  -  Only 6 ever made.  This cage uses a totally different principle to the normal dove cage.  No hydraulic piston used but the cage will take 6 doves and vanish simply and easily.  Now a rare collector's item.  (£120.00)  £90.00
GIANT RABBIT PAN  - In polished aluminium, size 10" diameter X 4" high.  Will hold a tremendous load.  Has a dome shaped lid.  No longer manufactured.  (£84.00)  £60.00
SAUSAGES PLUS A LONG STRIP OF LETTERS BEARING THE WORD SAUSAGES  -  As the patter monologue is recited the strip is folded to make different words, then the letters are refolded and when opened out the letters spell "Applause".  Large "day-glo" yellow and black colours.  As an extra surprise you fold the letters into a square container, reach into the top and produce "a string of sausages".  (£18.00)  £13.00
IAN ADAIR'S SLIDE-APART PRODUCTION BOX   -  The performer displays a wooden cabinet which has two doors and a large clear perspex window at the rear.  Both sliding doors are pulled to either side and the audience can see clearly inside the box and the interior seems to be completely empty.  The doors are slid closed and two circular doors at the front are opened.  Immediately a huge production of silks and streamers commences or you could produce two birds.  Size of cabinet is 12" long X 8" high X 4" deep.  No longer manufactured.  Handle at one side has been repaired but it looks and works O.K.  (£60.00)  £45.00
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BANNER  -  A velvet banner which is blank is displayed.  Pieces of ribbon are dropped onto the banner and they magically form the words "Happy Birthday".  (£36.00)  £27.00
DAGGER-THRU  MIRACLE CHEST  -  A lovely wooden prop in yellow, red and blue.  An open top box with large holes in the front (size 10" X 9" X 6") has a sliding front and a large dagger running from side to side.  The front is removed showing the box empty except for the dagger.  The front is replaced and the dagger is removed and waved over the box.  Now a large production of silks etc., is produced and finally when the sliding front is removed a live dove is seen in the box.  The box can now be passed for examination or use it to vanish a dove or whatever.   Very nice prop.  (£75.00)  £55.00
DE LUXE BREAKDOWN LIVESTOCK VANISH  -  A nicely decorated cabinet in which you place a couple of doves.  The box is now slowly dismantled piece by piece.  first the id is taken off, the audience being allowed to look right through, next the front and back panels are slid out, both sides of each being shown, finally the sides and base are folded flat.  The doves have vanished.  If you do not want to use livestock you can vanish a doll or load of silks.  (£75.00)  £55.00

TOPSY  -  ("Heidi" routine given with prop).  A picture of a black girl is displayed then placed into a wooden house.  Her face can be seen through the cut out window.  A number of differently coloured ribbons are shown and placed into a small change bag.  They vanish and when the picture of Heidi is removed all the ribbons are fastened in her hair.  (£55.00)  £39.00
THE £100 JACKPOT  - A cheque for £100 is sealed into an envelope and mixed with two other envelopes then placed onto a three colour half-moon display stand.  Two spectators have a free choice of an envelope.  they open them to find a "Hard Luck" message.  The performer's envelope is opened to reveal the £100 cheque.  Easy to do.  The handsome wooden stand does all the hard work.  Now unobtainable.  (£48.00)  £36.00
AND SO TO BED  -  A large wand drops open to show a life size silk screened man in pyjamas and nightcap.  The performer pokes his face through a cut out hole and it looks lie he is wearing the pyjamas as he wishes everyone "Goodnight".  A great visual gag with which to close your act.  (£28.00)  £21.00
K.B. CABARET CARD RISE  -  A number of cards are chosen and replaced into the pack.  The deck is now placed into an examined wooden houlette which is now hung on the magicians wand.  One by one the cards rise up as the ends of the wand are held in each hand.  Clever principle.  No threads or motors.  Now unobtainable.  (£36.00)  £27.00
JUMBO SIZE STRIP-TEASE LADY  -  3 jumbo cards are shown.  Two blue backed Three of Clubs and a red baked Queen.  The audience can never locate the Queen and when they finally think they have found it, the red backed card is turned round to reveal a saucy pin-up girl not the Queen.  (£8.00)  £6.00
RED PLASTIC BEAKER CHOP CUP   -  With two green crochet balls and large red ball plus Ken Brooke Chop Cup routine.  (£25.00)  £18.50
FATHER BLANTZ'S MIRACLE LIQUID PENETRATION  -  Three plastic drinking glasses are shown separately, then nested one on top of the other.  Water is poured into the top tumbler.  Naturally it starts to fill but the water is yellow.  You continue pouring water and the bottom tumbler is seen to fill, but he water is red in colour.  With a further pour the centre tumbler starts to fill but the colour this time is green.  Finally, when all the tumblers are filled with different coloured liquid the tumblers are separated and displayed.  (£28.00)  £21.00
THE DEVON DRUM  -  This lovely chrome "drum" is 4cm. high X 4cm. in diameter and operates like the "pea can" in that it has a secret interior container which can be loaded in or removed at will by gripping the rim in the thumb palm position.  Coins etc. can be made to vanish/appear/change.  A nice prop.  (£28.00)  £21.00
SINGLE ELUSIVE RABBIT  -  A superbly manufactured white cut out rabbit on a black base is sown standing 12 inches high.  It is covered with a lovely blue tube which has a white top hat on it.  The performer explains how the rabbit hops about and picks up the rabbit and tube to illustrate this point, obviously turning it round.  When the tube is lifted the rabbit is now seen to be black.  The previous move is repeated and the rabbit is now back to white again.  By now the audience are screaming to see the rear of the white rabbit.  Finally it is turned round to reveal a yellow and red rabbit.  This is truly lovely apparatus.  (£36.00)  £27.00
DOVES FROM SCARF  -    A self contained method.  The performer enters wearing a smart white scarf.  He removes the scarf then bundles it up and produces a live dove – but that is not all – suddenly a second white dove is produced.  The scarf is in new condition.  (£36.00)  £27.00

JUMBO “SUPER SWTICH”  -  A plastic holder with a clear transparent front is shown empty.  A blank jumbo sized card is shown on both sides then placed into the holder.  The back of the card is visible all the time.  Later, when the card is pulled from the holder it is seen to have the answer to an addition, a chosen word, a picture or “what-have-you”, clearly printed there on the face.  Comes complete with many routines.  (£16.00)  £12.00
MINSHELL’S MIGRATION  -  Invented by Ed Minshell and Steve Dusheck in the U.S.A.  You receive four special coins (2 pence), a wallet and a few special playing cards which enable you to present a baffling matrix routine which virtually works itself.  The four coins travel around until magically they are all under one card.  (£20.00)  £16.00
PAVEL’S CD DISC COLORINGS  -  Three clear discs are shown both sides and one by one are placed into a cover with a clear front.  A coloured silk is threaded through the cover and disc.  When the disc is removed it has changed from clear to the colour of the silk – on both sides.  This is repeated with the other two discs.  Self working miracle.  (£28.00)  £21.00
FANTASIO’S DOVE PRODUCER  -  A nicely designed dove holder for the production of a live dove from any silk.  (£8/00)  £6.00
TIPPLE TOPPLE WAND  -  A comedy wand wherein the white tip at the end tipples and topples over so that it is hanging loose.  (£8.00)  £6.00
DE LUXE MIRROR TUBE  -  Manufactured in solid Perspex (Lucite).  Size 8 inches long X 2¼ inches in diameter with a band of decorative material around each end.  Can be used to vanish/produce/change silks.  (£20.00)  £15.00

THE PULL OUT DRAWER BOX  -  This looks like the familiar drawer box until you show it empty, because you pull the drawer completely out of the case allowing your audience to see right inside.  The box is assembled and when open again it is now filled with silks, spring flowers sweets etc.  The box can also be used to produce a small budgie etc.   (£36.00)  £27.00
ORIGINAL CHINESE WASHING MACHINE  -  A great comedy kids trick.  Socks are placed into the machine, get torn, stretched, shrunk etc.  When the kid turns the handle on the top it makes a horrible grinding noise.  This model is one of the first batch produced in the 1970s.   (£84.00)  £60.00
DE LUXE WRIST CHOPPER  -   The spectator puts his wrist into the top and a carrot is placed in the bottom.  The blade is slammed down and passes right through the wrist but chops the carrot in half.  This is a nicely decorated and neat professional prop.   (£68.00)  £50.00

THE BIG FEATURE DRAWER BOX  -  A big drawer box which will hold a live rabbit or an enormous load of silks, flowers, spring goods etc.  The load chamber measures 11 inches X 5 inches X 5 inches, the out side of the box is 12 inches X 6 inches X 6 inches.  Made entirely in wood and lacquered in blue, orange and black.  The big feature is that the outer casing has three large holes on each side so that when the drawer is pulled out you can see right into the casing.  The drawer is pulled open, tipped over and shown empty, closed, and re-opened.  It can be taken right out and straight away you produce a live rabbit.  A nice prop!     (£95.00)  £75.00
CURIOUS COTTAGE  -  A lovely illusionette that is completely deceptive.  A beautiful little wooden screen printed cottage on a handsome table is dismantled piece by piece.  Each part is shown freely.  The cottage is re-assembled and instantly a mammoth production of silks or livestock commences.  This is the ideal production prop for doves or a live rabbit.  The table can be freely shown, the top is only half an inch thick and the stand is turned round to show there is nothing there either, yet the load capacity of the cottage is enormous.   (£150.00)  £98.00
FORGETFUL FREDDIE  -  A great kids trick.  Freddie is a large cut out wooden screen printed figure of a boy.  He is so forgetful; he will forget his head one day.  The boy’s head is removed and placed into a handkerchief.  A balloon is inflated and placed onto Freddie’s body.  A child helps to draw a face on the balloon.  Finally the hanky is shown empty and suddenly the balloon bursts; revealing Freddie’s head is back on top of his body.   (£60.00)  £45.00
CUPS AND BALLS (DUMPIES)  -  Brand new shiny aluminium dumpy cups and balls with Ken Brooke routine.  A nice set these.   (£20.00)  £15.00
CLOCK-OFF  -  A block with a clock face painted on it is examined then placed into a wooden tube which has two large holes in it.  The clock block is suspended in full view in the tube on a rod.  On command the clock block visibly penetrates the rod and drops out of the bottom of the tube.    (£36.00)  £27.00
SILK IN BALLOON  -  The performer vanishes a silk.  He shows his hands empty then he takes a clear transparent inflated balloon from a holder, bursts the balloon and inside is the vanished silk.  (£20.00)  £15.00
COMEDY FLOWERING BOUQUET  -  A bouquet is given to the performer or his assistant; but there are no flowers, only green foliage.  The performer says the magic word and slowly, visibly and magically blooms begin to appear until there is now a full bunch of orange flowers.  Self working!    (£28.00)  £21.00
BOB SOLARI’S HELL BENT  -  The performer displays two ordinary house keys; one silver and one brass, on his outstretched palm.  A key is chosen and the other is discarded.  Suddenly the key is seen to be bent at a 90° angle and it is passed for examination.   (£10.00)  £7.50            


JACK HUGHES MAGIC

DOVE-AIR –   A superb piece of apparatus consisting of, an openwork tray with a perch at the front and “butterfly” net on a pole.  The assistant holds the tray as the performer attempts to catch an invisible dove in the net.  Suddenly in mid-air a dove is seen in the net.  The performer runs to the assistant and pops the net over the tray when a live dove is seen sitting on the perch.  This is repeated one more time until two doves are sitting on the perch.  (£200.00)  £145.00
DOVES TO POODLE - A glitter plastic house has four doves placed into it as they are produced. The back and front doors are opened and the doves have vanished and a poodle is inside. (£100.00) £75.00
RIBBONS TO DOVE  - A cage rests on a wooden pedestal. It has three solid sides and bars at the front. Ribbons are inserted and magically and mysteriously the ribbons are drawn in to the cage. As the ribbons vanish into the cage the roof is removed to reveal three coloured doves sitting inside the cage. (£200.00) £150.00

ORIGINAL CUBAN RELEASE  -  This is the two rope version.  A large red and gold block is handed out for examination.  It has a hole passing through the centre.  Two ropes are shown freely.  The block is placed into a black and gold wooden frame and the two ropes are threaded through the frame and the block thus locking it in position.  On the word of command the block is pulled out of the frame magically penetrating the ropes, which are clearly seen to be running through the frame.  A superb piece of apparatus beautifully crafted by the late Jack Hughes.  (£125.00)  £92.00  (2)
STAGE MODEL OF KNIFE THRU’ GIRL ILLUSION  -  Invented by Harold Beaumont.  A very limited number were manufactured by Jack Hughes for Max Andrews (Vampire Magic Ltd.) and a photo and full description can be found in Max Andrews Catalogue No. 5 plus a full description of the very clever mechanics can be found in “The Jack Hughes World Of Magic” Book Volume 3 by Derek Lever.  Here is a brief description of the effect:- A large target on legs is seen at one side of the stage.  A stand is displayed and holds 4 knives with different coloured handles.  One knife is selected by the audience.  A balloon is inflated and handed to your lady assistant who holds it in front of her as she stands in front of the target.  The performer suddenly throws the knife at her.  It bursts the balloon, penetrates the girl and appears quivering in the centre of the target.  This is a sensational illusion.  The mechanism is different to the well known “Knifer” Illusion as there is no slit in the target.  Very rare item.  (£450.00)  £340.00
THE LAST CARD  -  A deck of cards is shuffled.  A circular display board which has yellow, red, blue and green panels is shown.  Sixteen cards are dealt from the deck and placed four in each of the four coloured panels.  An envelope containing a prediction is handed to a spectator.  Three colours are nominated and the cards at those positions are discarded.  The remaining four cards are fastened at the four colours.  Three colours are nominated and these three cards are discarded.  The last card is turned round.  The prediction in the envelope is read.  It names the last showing on the display stand.  Great trick.  (£48.00)  £36.00

BILLY DAY'S KLOWNING KATS  -  A large wooden top hat 10" X 8" which contains 3 cats - Snowy (a white one), Sooty (a black one) and Ginger (a ginger one).  They are each in turn placed into the hat.  Ginger smells fish and pops out of the hat.  He is placed on the table.  He is followed by Sooty who is placed alongside Ginger.  The performer peers in the hat  and says Snowy has gone.  The hat is turned upside down to prove it but as the performer is talking two ears pop up out of the hat.  The kids yell.  the ears pop down etc., etc.  Finally the "ears" are pulled out and it proves to be Joey  the Clown wearing a hat. GEORGE BLAKE’S UNCANNY HANKS  -  Probably the greatest visible effect ever.  A length of tape and four silks are examined.  A spectator ties the four silks onto the tape.  Everything is placed into a bag and a magic pass is made.  The tape and the silks are removed separately from the bag, they have magically untied.  Everything is placed back in the bag.  A magic pass is made and when the tape is pulled out of the bag the silks are firmly tied onto it.  The performer turns the bag inside out and shows it empty.  The spectator calls out any colour of silk and visibly that silk slowly unties itself from the tape.  This is repeated with the other three silks to tumultuous applause.  Apparatus supplied includes 12 silks, one hand change bag and tapes.   (£110.00)  £80.00

VANISHING BOWL OF WATER  -  A large metal bowl is filled with water whilst resting on a large metal tray. The bowl and tray are covered with a foulard.  The bowl is removed from the tray under cover of the foulard.  the shape of the bowl can be clearly seen under the foulard.  The performer carries it forward then tosses it into the air.  The bowl of water has completely vanished.  (£48.00)  £36.00.
GREAT CARMO BEAD MYSTERY  -  A string of beads is removed from a girl's neck and the clip is cut off the end.  The beads fall into an unprepared tumbler and the cord on which they were threaded remains empty in the performer's hand.  This is coiled up and place into the mouth then the beads are poured from the tumbler into the mouth.  Immediately they are pulled out of the mouth and are seen to have magically restrung themselves on the cord.  If you do not want to put anything in your mouth you could use an unprepared bowl etc.  Comes complete with attractive clear perspex display stand.  One has no Perspex stand.  (£36.00)  £27.00

JAPANESE RICE BOWLS  -  Manufactured in black and gold plastic.  You fill one bowl until it is level to the top and place the other bowl mouth down on top.  When the bowls are shaken the rice doubles in quantity and over flows onto the table.  Finally the rice vanishes and in its place is a large amount of water.  (£24.00)  £18.00

SUCKER BEAKER VANISH  -  The apparatus consists of a tray with a drape standing on a plinth, three metal tubes and a beaker.  The performer announces that he will perform the Vanishing Beaker Trick.  The beaker is placed on the tray and covered by the tubes.  When the tubes are removed the beaker is seen to be stuck halfway through a trapdoor in the tray.  The performer starts again and this time each tube is shown empty and the beaker really has vanished. But what is under the tray?  The drape is ripped off the tray revealing nothing.  The beaker really has vanished.  A great “sucker” trick, which is very hard to find these days!   (£80.00)  £60.00

FLEXIBLE GLASS - A mirror is shown in a wooden frame. It is proved to be solid and then wrapped in paper. The performer then thrusts a knife right through the centre of the mirror and other holes are pierced at other places. 20TH. CENTURY SILKS - Using 24" silks and a small glitter plastic box to vanish one silk. Two large blue silks are tied together and placed in a tumbler. A red silk is shown and tucked into a small glitter box. Suddenly the doors of the box are flipped open. The red silk has vanished and when the two blue silks are pulled out of the tumbler, there fastened between them is the missing red silk. (£48.00) £36.00

THE WANDERING BLOCK  -  A blue, a red and a yellow block are stacked on top of each other on a base with a rod passing through their middle.  The blocks are removed and the blue one is placed into a hat or carrier bag.  The yellow block is replaced on the rod, then the red one and the blue one is removed from the hat and placed on top of the red one.  A decorated wooden  tube is shown empty and placed over all the blocks.  A magic pass is made and when the tube is removed it is seen that the red block has vanished completely and it is discovered in the hat.  Good commercial magic and very clever.  (£68.00)  £50.00
VAMPIRE DIMINISHING CARDS  -  This is the Chapender method which is now very hard to find.  The cards diminish in size until they are one sixteenth of their original size.  The cards ending up just ½ inch long.  (£24.00)  £18.00

MATCH-IT  -  A spectator and the performer each start with a match box in front of them.  The performer asks the spectator to duplicate exactly his movements with the match box.  The boxes are opened to show that they are both the right way up, then closed, moved around and turned over etc.  The second time the boxes are opened they are still the right way up, but after that, no matter how closely the spectator follows the moves his match box always ends up the opposite way to that of the performer.  (£8.00)  £6.00
THE SINGLE DIMINISHING CARD  -  A single playing card is squeezed at the fingertips.  It diminishes to half size.  Another squeeze it is now quarter size, then it goes to 1/16 size and finally vanishes altogether.  (£10.00)  £7.50

ARABIAN VASE  -  A very rare item.  A long necked brass vase which is a lota vase.  You can turn it upside down to empty the water out, remove a cork from the bottom of the vase and pass a wand right through the vase proving it is undeniably empty.  Replace the cork and pour out more water.  This repeated several times.  As a finale a rope is dropped into the neck of the vase and the vase clings to the rope.  It can even be swung around on the end of the rope.   (£120.00)  £90.00    We also have a dented model at (£60.00)  £40.00
OMELETTE PAN  -  A hat is borrowed and a chrome dish is shown.  An egg is broken into the dish and a spectator watches horrified as the egg is tipped into the hat.  However magically everything works out alright as the hat is shown to be undamaged.  (£28.00)  £21.00 

THE DIABLO GLASS  -  A very rare item.  This is a half pint drinking glass fitted with an interior lipped glass inner so that when you fill it with liquid you only use need drink a very small amount before the glass is empty.  The glass is perfect for ventriloquists, but it can be used as an “Evaporated Milk” tumbler by pouring liquid into a paper bag and it vanishes etc.  A very nice piece of apparatus!   (£48.00)  £36.00

THE LIE DETECTOR  -  A card is selected and returned to the deck.  The pack is cut a number of times as you explain that it is a lie detector.  You ask a series of questions and show a packet of computer cards.  A cocktail stick is inserted into the pack and the name of the card is magically revealed.  (£16.00)  £12.00
ORIGINAL THE EYES HAVE IT  -  A card is chosen and the performer produces a giant show card with a large eye on the front.  After showing that the entire pack is printed on the back of the eye card it magically becomes a giant replica of the chosen card.  Lots of comedy business involved in the routine.  (£75.00)  £55.00

ROY JOHNSON'S SCREWY NUT  -  From a small plastic tube you take a nut and bolt upon which is threaded a dice.  The nut and dice are removed and shown to be free of deception.  The dice is replaced on the bolt, a washer follows and everything is held in place with the nut.  Everything is dropped inside the tube which is then capped.  When the tube is opened the nut has jumped off the bolt and rests on the head of the bolt.  (£24.00)  £18.00
C. I. D.  -  Any spectator shuffles two packets of six cards each.  He takes one packet himself, the performer takes the other.  The performer places his cards behind his back and the spectator does likewise.  Starting with the performer each places a card on the table in turn until the two packets are exhausted.  When the cards are turned face-up, all the cards match - perfectly.  (£16.00)  £12.00
